How Long Is Phantom Blade Zero? Story and Completion Times

Budget roughly forty to fifty hours for an exploratory first playthrough if your pace resembles the reviewed runs. A focused main-story route can be shorter, while a platinum plan depends on missable quests and optional encounters as much as raw playtime. Choose the endpoint first: seeing credits, following the fuller ending and clearing trophies describe different runs. That distinction makes the available completion estimates useful instead of apparently contradictory. [1] [2]

The HowLongToBeat sample checked on November 8 contained eight main-story submissions, nineteen main-plus-sides submissions and twenty-two completionist submissions. Use the rounded estimates above as starting budgets, then adjust after your first regions. If you spend extra sessions testing weapons or searching every branch, the exploratory review runs are a more useful comparison for your schedule. [3] [1] [2] [4]

Why the platinum estimate can be shorter than a review run

A roadmap assumes a route: know which conversations to complete, protect missable Tales, visit optional areas in a useful order and reach the required collectible thresholds. A reviewer exploring without that route can spend longer checking branches, testing equipment and understanding the world. These are different conditions, so the lower trophy estimate does not mean the platinum requires less content than the main story. [4] [1]

Treat a 30–40 hour platinum estimate as an organized target. If a missed Tale requires an older save, your total can grow substantially. Use manual saves around region transitions and finish the healer chain’s early deadlines while those stages are available. Protecting progress is a more reliable time-saving measure than skipping every side path on sight. [4] [5]

What makes your run longer?

Learning bosses adds repeated attempts, especially while you are learning defensive timing. Experimenting with weapons adds practice time, even when ordinary upgrade materials are recoverable. Exploring side routes adds travel and follow-up conversations. Seeking the fuller ending adds the lake investigation and the five pillar challenges to your planning. [1] [2] [6]

Those activities can be the reason to play, so distinguish optional enjoyment from unwanted delay. If you like testing each weapon, give yourself room for it. If you want a focused campaign, limit equipment experiments to choices that solve an actual problem and follow one clear objective per session.

Choose a practical evening schedule

At two hours per session, a forty-hour run occupies about twenty sessions; a fifty-hour run occupies twenty-five. Five such sessions a week gives a rough four-to-five-week plan. These are scheduling calculations based on the estimates above, not a promise about your personal pace.

For a shorter session, set a checkpoint goal: complete one Tale stage, open a route or practice one encounter. For a longer session, pair exploration with the boss or conversation it unlocks. Keeping a note of the journal objective and nearest bell helps you resume without spending the next evening reconstructing the route.

Does the sixty-six-day story impose a real deadline?

The ordinary campaign’s premise gives Soul sixty-six days to live. The separate unlockable 66 Days challenge counts deaths against a limited allowance at Hellwalker difficulty. Your normal first playthrough is not a requirement to finish within sixty-six real calendar days. You can plan sessions around your schedule. [7] [8]

For a first visit, reserve the forty-to-fifty-hour exploratory range and adjust after the opening regions. For a platinum run, choose a roadmap and preserve the saves it needs. For credits alone, use the shorter player-submission category as a rough indication while allowing for your own combat learning and exploration.
